RARE, especially in this quality. Manuel Luis Quezon, born on August 19, 1878, was a Filipino soldier, statesman and politician whose popularity ultimately led to his Presidency of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. During his time as President, he helped tackle issues such as homelessness, military defense and government corruption.
Under the threat of Japanese hostility, he ultimately sought exile in the United States where he eventually died of tuberculosis. He was initially buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, but was later moved to Manila and finally the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.
